Apple Cinnamon Muffins

with Downey's Honey-Butter

(recipe makes 12 muffins)



1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
Butter (for greasing muffin tin)
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup natural apple sauce
3 tablespoons Downey’s Cinnamon Honey-Butter
½ cup nonfat plain yogurt
¼ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 apple


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Butter muffin cups.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together white flour, wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream together sugar, brown sugar, apple sauce, honey-butter, yogurt, milk, and vanilla.  Beat in egg.
  5. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients.
  6. Dice apple.  Mix into batter.
  7. Pour equal amount of batter into each muffin cup.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
